Why is my connection so slow?

We are having a problem with people using programs called "grabbers" that 
open multiple connections to the web site.  I have seen as many as 12 connections at once
from one ip address.

When you multiply that by the number of people that use these programs, three or four 
people can use up all the bandwidth currently alloted, leaving very slow connections
for YOU.

There are a couple of solutions.

1. STOP THAT!
2. Try FTP.
3. Donate regularly so we can afford to buy more bandwidth.  
The next step up is $120 per month so we would need a regular income to do that.  This
is a hobby board with no advertising or other income so we would need your regular support.
